Kia ora! Today I am going to tell you about pet day! Pet day is this cool day where you can bring your pets and soft toys! Each year we have pet day and you know what? This year it was different, instead of making sand sculptures and stuff. We made a cool hut for an animal! Our teacher gave us our animal, well the name of it and its likes and dislikes. My animal was named the hippocampus! It was so so cool! We were asked to work in groups so I worked with some of my friends Mikayla, and Riley! I will now show you some photos of pet day!

My Learning For This Week!

Kia ora! Today I will talk to you about what I have learnt in writing. I have learnt about poems and that they can be really fun! All you do/can do is make up words that rhyme and add them to the poem! Once again, it is SO SO fun. In class we had to make a long long sentence like the longest we've ever done! My challenge along the way was to think about what I would make my long sentence about on a cold winter morning. I think it was hard because I had to part it, but that part was easy, saying it on the screencastify, that is the part that was hard because I didn't know what I should sound like when I was saying it on that screencastify.

Making Comics On Pixton

Welcome back Bloggers!

Kia ora! Today I will tell you about Pixton. Pixton is this cool app thing on your computer that you can make a comic on. You could make a comic about you life, and an adventure of you going somewhere, all that kind of stuff and more! You can add some of your classmates on there and you can make yourself or your avatar! You will never want to stop using this amazing, cool, breathtaking app, named pixton. You will want to go home tonight and try pixton and say that I'm glad I looked on that person's blog. You can also have poses and all that kind of stuff. You can change the speech bubbles. You can also change how they look and you can change their clothing too.

Athletics Day

Hi Bloggers! Today I will talk to you about Athletics Day! But I would wonder if you have ever done athletics before? Well I have, and I am going to tell you what we were doing at athletics. We were doing sprints first. I was so so slow, well what I am trying to say is that I did not win. I came LAST, fourth place, and I was still puffed afterwards and we had to do it 2 times at least I think. Next, we had to go into our groups, and  me and my friend Olivia were in the same group .  We went together in all of the athletics stages, there was shot put, long jump, high jump, and lastly there was discus. I did my best and tried my best in all of this. If you saw me you would say I was slow.

What Is Media?

Do you know what media Is? Media is a lot of things you almost see them everywhere.  I will tell you what I've seen in the past 24 hours, I've seen Websites, signs, movies and TV.  What have you seen that is media? Do you know what media is? There are other things that can be media. things that tell you where to go and things that tell you whats going on. Media is here so we know where to go. Whats going on so we can all be safe. It is very important. Have you ever learnt About media before? The point of media is to tell us information.

Kia ora, today I will tell you about my moment in time writing. I will tell you about Similes, Metaphors, Personification. Firstly Personification is technically when you say I saw the tree wave at me. A metaphor is something where you say a fake simile, so I would say something like my heart is as hard as stone. A simile is something where you would say something like I pounced to the other side like a tiger. My challenge was to actually try to figure out what a metaphor is in the first place, but then I remembered and then I could say what a metaphor is. I am proud of this because I tried to think about metaphors, personification and similes.

All About My Reading

Kia ora! Today I will tell you about my reading.  In my reading the thing I am working on is about a geyser. Did you know that some geysers are very very dangerous they can make you burn yourself. Some are cold so you can go close to them but for a hot geyser you can't. I found my reading challenging because I didn't know much about geysers in the first place. I am proud of my reading because I thought about what I would like to have in my geyser workbook. Today we had to do a diagram. It was so fun. I wanted to do it on a piece of paper, so that's what I did.

My Goals.

 Hi Bloggers!

Kia ora, I am going to tell you today from the start of the year what has happened this year, and why I was so worried about all of the things. I didn't know what things we would do in all of the subjects and what the teachers would be like. I was worried about which reading, maths and writing end I would be in and who I would have as a teacher down the ends that I would be in. I am in The south end for everything and it turned out fine! There was no need to be worried! My goal for this term is to make some more friends because one of my Friends moved schools. My challenge was to not be worried in the first place, although  it was really hard to. I would like to achieve algebra where you do x + 10 = 12 something like that.

 

Harold The Amazing Giraffe.

 Welcome Back Bloggers!

Today I saw Harold the giraffe!! I know right! So we went into this camper van and then we sat down, we also played a kapa haka game I forgot what it was called but it was sooo much fun, so we had to like do kapa haka actions (ones that our leader didn't do) and her name was Keri, and we learned about our brain and the things we can't control and can like we can't control. We also did a few jokes and they were really funny!! One was How do you get Pikachu into a bus? Pokemon! Second one, (also the last) was what do you call a bee in a graveyard? A zombie! Soon after that we lined up in to lines, the line facing our school was the first to leave inside the van to get in to our school (which is Yaldhurst Model School) and the one facing the road went last. My highlight of the week was treating Keri responsibly and listing and having a talk to the people around me about feelings and when she made the van light up red it meant we all listen and I did that very well. My Challenge was trying to do the game, because I didn't know which moves Keri was going to do, and you had to do a move right after her.

Hey bloggers! I'm going to talk to you about my Speech!

So, last week I made a Speech it was about Yaldhurst Model School which is the school I go to. I wrote why it is good and I am wondering if you have ever done a speech? What was it about and do you have a fav subject that you would put in your speech? I felt very nervous doing my speech. It was sooo hard. How would you feel when you present your speech? We have cards to help us say and do our speech. Do you have cards to do and/or say your speech.

My Math For This Week In Te Mahuri!

 Welcome Back Bloggers!

Hi guys! For this week in Te Mahuri we have been making Patterns in maths. We had to make patterns and it was so fun! The part I found challenging was trying to make a pattern, the teacher made some too to give us an example, and she made some and we finished them of.  I am proud of this because I was thinking about the patterns and what came next. It was so hard because we had to actually dig deep in our brain to figure out what came next and how we would make our pattern. We were struggling with some hard bits, and they were hard. We had to make a pattern using beads and I made red, orange, red, orange, red, orange.

What would your pattern be? My pattern would be maybe pink, purple, pink, purple, but I wanted to do red orange instead.

How would you make your pattern? I would make my pattern by making sure I like the pattern and then I would make the pattern.

When would you make a pattern? I would make the pattern when I might have a thought of ideas for my pattern or when I am asked to make my pattern.

 Why would you make a pattern? I would make a pattern because it is cool how it repeats itself and I almost see patterns on tops lots.

Who would you show your pattern to? I would show my pattern to the teachers, to my Parents, and to my friends.

My Reading For This Week In Te Mahuri!

 Hi Bloggers!

For this week in Te Mahuri we were doing a significant event in reading, it was amazing clearly what we did was we had to draw what we saw out this window then we had to explain what was happening and lastly give reasons about why you think this is the most important event. The part that I found challenging was trying to draw it all. I learn't that I think the most important event in the story was about the Dad/Farmer of a few boys Mumbo, Jumbo, and Gumbo and there Dad died because he was sick. I am proud of this because I put lots of work into all of it the drawing and the words.

 I know that on Book Creator you can create a book and it is so cool simply you just open up a book on Book Creator if you know how to do that then you just can give it a title and design the front cover of you book then add a new page and add a story on that then you can add another page and add some more of the story on that.

What I Have Learned This Week In Te Muhuri!

                  I'm Erika and I'm going to tell you what I have Learned this week in Te Mahuri!

I have learned about pranks and sometimes it goes to far which isn't good. Sometimes the person might feel like they are getting bullied instead of feeling like they got pranked, I think that the person that is pranking isn't actually pranking I think that they are just bullying and just tell people that they are pranking instead of bullying! I know right it's so mean! I have made a slide and I'd like to show you it. But I want to tell you what my next steps are, my next steps are to maybe make the boxes tinier and just take notes instead of  full sentences. The thing I found challenging was trying to find this information. What have you been doing for reading?

My Cross Country - 5th Place Strike!

My Cross County.

Kia ora my name is Erika and I  am going to tell you about my Cross County!  My friend Lucy and I did Cross County with my class, when we finished Lucy said that I came fifth place! I was so proud of myself and I ran the hole way! I was so puffed after Cross Country, I can show you a photo of myself and a girl named Mikayla doing Cross  Country but first I would like to tell you what the course was like, well to start of with, it was pretty hard but we had to go out of the school to the Domain and back when we were practicing we got to play in the playground well we waited for the year fives I'm a year four anyway. What I have learnt this week in Te Mahuri.

Kia ora I'm Erika from Yaldhurst Model School. I am going to tell you what I have learnt this week in Te Muhuri. I have learnt about Statistics it is math. I might take a photo of my statistics, but first I will tell you what Statistics is, it is like a graph of something like your question would be what is your favorite animal and you would answer back one of the options, the options are: Cat Dog Bird or a Bunny, mine would be a beautiful cat because they are very fluffy and have an adorable face, it is so cute. I also like how they have a long tail and the ears make it super cute. 

My Work!

Hi, my name is Erika from Yaldhurst Model School. I am going to show you what I have done in school this week, it is a little bit like a presentation but it has stuff I have done and it is called my Math Celebration and it is like it has all of my reading stuff well, not all my reading stuff just some of it that I think I have done well on. I was proud of the first one because I tried so hard to make a diagram and I tried my best at it. I am proud of the second one because it took me a lot of time to work that one out so I could just put stuff on there and when I did that I felt proud of myself of what I have done. Now the third, I am proud of that one because I like how I got them done in a flick and how I answered the questions like how I was supposed to. I am proud of the fourth one because that was in possums to you and I am fascinated by it so I got most right. I am proud of the fifth one because I tried hard on it and I was focusing of what I had to do. I am proud of the sixth one because that is an exciting book that makes me feel like I can do the questions and i like how I got them right. Now I will put the slide on the blog.

My Handwriting

Kia ora I'm Erika From Yaldhurst Model School. I have done some handwriting and I would like to show you it once I have said other things, so I am going to tell you about what was challenging first, what was challenging is when we had to link are letters with other letters that were in words. Now what I learnt, I have learnt how to like letter to letter to letter. Now why I enjoyed it, I enjoyed it because it was nice and challenging for me and I sometimes like challenging things, only sometimes though. My next steps are to try and make it a bit neater try and link it better so you can kinda see the words. Next time I think that I could make sure I get lots of neat handwriting. My New Animal.

Hello, I'm Erika and I am from Yaldhurst Model School and I am going to make and create a new animal! If you made and created a new animal what would yours be? Mine would be a lady bug with a horn, wings, and cat ears. Would you add something like that with a horn, wings, and cat ears attached to your animal?


I would call my animal The Many-Animal-lady. Many-Animal-lady would make things be safe by using her power which is Flight, Destruction, and her powerful power which she can only use once a day. She eats special food which is rainbow cakes and crackers, and last of all I am going to tell you what her habitat looks like. It has a pink little tiny roof because she is quite small, it has love hearts on its roof, and blue on the outside of the walls.

One Of My Favorite Recipes.

Hi blogging people I am going to tell you what one of my favorite recipes are... They are Chocolate Chip Cookies! I am going to write down the ingredients.

: 3/4 cup brown sugar.
: 2/3 cup olive oil.
: 1/4 soy milk.
: 1 tablespoon tapioca flour.
: 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
: 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
: 1/2 teaspoon salt.
: 3/4 cup chocolate chips.


:1  Heat oven to 180C.

:2 Mix the sugar, oil, milk, tapioca flour and vanilla until smooth.

:3 Add flour, baking soda and salt and mix.

:4 Fold in chocolate chips.

:5 Spoon mixture onto baking tray and bake for about 8 minutes.

:6 Eat the cookies!

What I have learnt this week in Te Mahuri

Kia ora I am going to tell you what I have learnt this week in Te Mahuri.
I have learnt how to use  ED words in a sentence starting with a  ED word.
I have learnt how to get a Microphone on my computer to talk into.
I have also learnt how to add up to one hundred starting by forty six.
We have also been learning how to use screencastify and put it on our blogs. My favorite part of this week is using ED words in a sentence starting with a ED word. THe challenging part of this week is linking in our handwriting books. My goal for next week is to get all of my work done so I have time to play.

This week in Te Mahuri I have learnt how to skip count in two from one to one hundred! At first what challenged me was when we got over sixty four to count in twos it was pretty hard.  Have you learnt how to do that yet? Did you do it with your class? I did it the kids in my class, I did it down north end  in our class which is facing towards Wellington. It was really fun!

What I have learnt!

Hello! I am going to tell you what I have learnt! I have got a Mana Enhancement slide, I have learnt stuff on there and I am going to tell you what I have learnt on my Mana Enhancement slides!

The work started with reading the story Then Creation. This is my Summary. 

I've also learnt that when it rains sky (father) is crying for his lost love which is the (mother). When the Mum crys, she cries out mist or I guess fog.
