Hi Bloggers today we were doing the Summer learning Journey and we were colouring in a game where you colour things and is really cool, I coloured in the Statue of Liberty and it looked so cool after I coloured in, you should try it, you can choose your own colouring in and then you colour it. Today I am going to talk to you about some ears that we made, you will probably be wondering what ears? Well, we made ears with cardboard, we took a buddy and I went with Ruby so we made ears the ears are like a ear with a hole in it  and this cup thing and it made it much louder.

The pros and Con's About Term 3

Today I am going to talk about the pros and the cons of Term 3. It's so funny that this Term has gone very very quick. So the pros: we got a new scooter track and we started athletics, my favourite is the long jump, but there are a lot of activities but it is still my fav, we also made gliders that was very fun.
The cons are that I didn't get to go on the new scooter track that                               much because my friends didn't go on it.

What I like about being back to school

Today I am going to talk to you about what I liked about going back to school. the things I liked about going back to school are that I could see my friends. and also I don't have to do that much hard learning because when we were at home. We did learning that was very hard so I couldn't get that much help. cause my Mum was working and my Dad was playing a game. Bye!

Picture Puzzles!!!

Yesterday we made picture puzzles. If you don't know exactly what a picture puzzle is, what you have to try and do is guess what they are, so for example, if I had a glass of jam and a pan and I had take away the m sign on there than it would be Japan.

What You Should Have In A Quality Blog Comment

Today I am going to talk to you about what you should do when you are writing a quality blog comment. Firstly, you should have a positive, these are very important, because they will tell the person that you are doing a quality blog comment too that they have  done a good job or something. So when you are going to write down something positive, you would say something like:

I liked this because...

My favourite part is...

And

This is amazing because...

After that you would write down a thoughtful, these are quite important too, well, they all are very important. When you are doing the thoughtful in your comment, you would write things like this:

This reminded me of when..

And

I've learn't...

Afterwards you would write down a helpful, again these are important too. It will tell you what they need to work on. You might say things like this:

Next time you could... 

Or

How come...

Lastly you would write a question, these are the most important of all, because these will start a blogasation (a blogasation is something were you can talk to people online but by comments.)

Now you know how to make a Quality Blog Comment! (QBC)

Olympics!!!

Today I am going to talk about the Olympics. 

The Olympics rings are red blue black yellow and green. The Olympics sports are:

Hockey

weightlifting

swimming

basketball

archery

rowing

volleyball

gymnastics

badminton

softball

handball and

football.

Those are some of them.

In the ancient Olympics only men and boys are allowed to compete in the olympics. Zeus and Hera are Gods of the Greeks. The Olympic Rings were created in 1913,

The five Olympic rings represent the 5 continents or parts of the world.

The End Of Term 2 Blog Post!

It is so sad that it is my last blog post for this term, so I am going to say three things about this term.

 I will start with winter sports. So for winter sports I play hockey and I compete with people that play hockey in my school, together we compete against other schools and so, for winter sports my favourite is hockey. 

Next I will say what I liked about this term. I liked the koru art we did, and once we drew a koru art we made it into a picture. 

Now I will say what challenged me, what challenged me was practicing hockey on the GRASS which is very hard because it makes it very hard to push and hit it through the grass.

I have been learning about Antarctica and that we need to start helping it because then all the ice in Antarctica will melt and the whole world will just be water. Every living species on earth won't even be able to live anymore, and that includes us humans too. I am going to show you a report I have done about Antarctica. Here it is:

Hi I am Erika and I am going to talk to you about Antarctica we need to start helping it so more animals can keep living in the world and so us humans can as well. Also if we don’t help it the ice will melt and

almost all the world will be covered in water and the whole world will just be water.

Handwriting DLO

Hi bloggers today I am going to show you how to do linking in handwriting, and you don't link a capital letter.  It is very hard when you start but it does get much easier.  I learn't how to do the c and it is very hard, it looks like waves when you do them. I also learnt how to do the ed, e, feed, and need. I had to have a really steady hand to be able to do it. The thing I did well in this was the c I think it looks much better than the rest and it looks a bit wonky though. My challengers was the word feed because I had to link the f and I didn't know how. There was also the AFL which we had to write a sentence that the teacher gave us out of the words we linked. Did you know that people link to get faster at writing.

My Maths DLO About Reading

my amazing friday.

On Friday I went ice skating, some people went skiing. 

When I went to ice skating my Mum and Dad were there. I first started not wanting to go on the ice. Then I went on the ice and hugged the wall. Then I did not go on the wall. I got off the wall and took little steeps. Then I could ice skate. When I was done somebody called my group, I was in group six, Lucy was too.

 My teacher was a girl and a boy. She and he taught  us how to ice skate. 

My DLO Of The Grid Method.

Today I will tell you about how I use the grid method, but first I have some questions, those questions are: 

1. How would you use a grid method? I would use a grid method just like how I did it in the video so watch the video so you know how I use a grid method and how to use a grid method.

2. Have you ever done a grid method before? Well I have used or done a grid method and I have proof in the video.

Next, I will teach you, so firstly lets start with a equation like 84 x 8 = ? So I will start of with giving you some steps.

1. You would make a grid method or draw one.  

2. You have to but a X sign on the very first box.

3. You need to put the equation in the left over boxes at the top.

4. You would add up the numbers like 8 x 8 then add a zero on the end of your answer.

The Chunking Method, DLO.

                                                                                  

Hi, this blog post will be about chunking, and it is really easy you just need to try and you'll be able to do it, when I first started doing it I thought it was impossible but then I did it and it was so fun I now really love the chunking method. Here is some steps to do the chunking method:

Step 1: Times it by the biggest number you can if you are working with any number under ten in the times table.

Step 2: Keep multiplying until you can't anymore.

Step 3: Subtract.

Step 4: Add the numbers on the side to get to your answer.

My Maths DLO (Negative Numbers.)

Today I am going to tell you about my math, (which is negative numbers) and I will show you how you use them. So lets start, if I had -1 and I had to add -2 it would be one, not negative one or negative three it would be one. Now I will ask  questions. do you know how to use negative numbers? Have you ever used them? Did you know that you can multiply and divide negative numbers? You can and you can also subtract. And when you add/+ you go to the positive end.

Kia ora! It has been a long time since I have made my last blog and I have done an all about me that I am going to show you. I have been excited about this term because I am going to get videos on my pepeha and it is a reflection of my culture. I also went on camp about a week ago and I had so much fun on camp. My favourite animal is a kitten, my favourite colour is black, my favourite subject is reading and my favourite food is Lasagne. My goal for this term/year is to try more algebra numbers in math and to do more writing, and try to be a faster typer.

Today I made a pixel art Christmas tree (it was a GIF). The three things I learn't are:

• That you can use a mirror tool that will copy what you made on one side to the other side.
• You can lighten/darken the picture.
• That there is a transforming tool.

SLJ Float My Boat!

Welcome black bloggers! Today I made a boat and I put some water in a bowl and put the boat on the water and it floated! I was so happy, and one tip for when you might make a boat is that you might want to make the triangle stand up. Here are my two photos!
